Donating to the Cabot Trail Writers Festival…

Once a year, we bring great writers from around the island and across the country to Cape Breton Island, to share their work at the Cabot Trail Writers Festival. We believe the literary arts are critically important to our culture and our world, and our goal is to help ensure that Cape Breton writers and readers are part of the conversation that begins when a book’s covers close.

The cost of bringing writers to this region is high, and we want to welcome as many people as possible to the festival, and to remove cost as a barrier wherever we can. For this reason, we organize free literary events at the festival and in schools and libraries around the island, and we strive to keep our festival ticket prices as low as we can (with free admission for youths).

By donating to our festival, you’re not only supporting the writers we host and the poems and stories and books they create, but you’re also supporting the readers of our island (and beyond), who are connected to the wider world of literature and thought shared through the readings, workshops, and conversations that unfold at our festival.

We’re deeply grateful for any donation in any amount, which will help our festival continue and grow, keeping our ticket prices affordable as we welcome new and favourite writers to Cape Breton Island, and open our doors to as wide an audience as possible.
